When textile designer Mina Abouzahra sought to revitalize her One Square Meter Berber (OSMB) project for its 5-year anniversary in March 2024, we developed a strategic approach centered around International Women's Day (March 8th). As OSMB's core mission is empowering women through traditional craft, we leveraged our network to forge partnerships with organizations sharing this vision.
Our collaboration with SOHO House and Harper's Bazaar Business Club resulted in a comprehensive event program focused on "empowering women through craft and entrepreneurship." The day featured a curated pop-up gallery showcasing Mina's works, a documentary retrospective of OSMB's journey, followed by a panel discussion with industry leaders and influential women, concluding with a networking reception.
To secure funding, we identified and engaged sponsors from the interior design sector, including Big Brands, Zuiver, JAM Architects, and AkuPanel, who not only provided financial support but also expanded the event's reach by inviting their professional networks.
This strategic initiative significantly amplified Mina's visibility and created tangible opportunities, including an exhibition at Amsterdam Museum, a collaboration with Rademakers Gallery, and a featured position in a prestigious Catawiki auction.
